Gymnastics and Dance Consultant secondment
Our Gymnastics and Dance Consultant, Sharon Kee, is currently working in India on secondment with the Youth Sport Trust and the British Council. Her role this term is to look at the PE curriculum in schools in New Delhi and advise the education authorities on how the place of PE and school sport can be strengthened and the benefits that this may bring. In the following autumn term she will be returning to India to continue her work in rural areas.
She will be back working within our School Sport Partnership in the summer term.
The picture shows Sharon meeting the Prime Minister, on his recent visit to India launching the £9m "international inspiration" fund, which aims to ensure the 2012 Olympics leaves a lasting legacy internationally and includes £4m for Indian athletes, designed to support young athletes' development.
