Primary Schools’ Indoor Athletics Festival - 7 February 2008

The athletics festival went off like a shot last Thursday. We had 13 schools competing, which were split in to major school and minor schools.

There were 6 events in total; these events were shared out between boys and girls. The festival was very energetic and exciting and all the children gave a 100%.

Congratulations to Cornwood who were the winners of the minor schools, and Woodlands dominated the major schools.

I would like to thank all the parents and teachers for their support and getting the children there.

I would also like to give a special thank you to the Schools Sport Partnership in conjunction with Erme Valley Harriers athletics club for organising the event. Thanks also to Ivybridge Community College whose staff and students helped on the day. And of course the children for being brilliantly behaved and giving 100% in all events, because if it wasn’t for them the festivals wouldn’t have taken place.
